Can acupuncture help with insomnia and sleep problems?

How long will it be before I start sleeping better?
Each case is different, some people start sleeping better the night of their first appointment. Severe cases take longer to resolve. Either way, acupuncture accomplishes results over a series of treatments that will stabilize your system so that you will continue to sleep well.
How is the treatment schedule structured?
If you are having trouble sleeping we want to resolve the problem as quickly as possible. During your first appointment we will talk about your specific scenario to create your individual treatment plan. Usually it will involve having 2-3 treatments for one to two weeks – then as you are sleeping better we will spread out the sessions until you are sleeping well consistently. Again, we will create a plan specifically for you that will work to stabilize your systems and bring your body into balance.
I’m taking sleeping pills, will acupuncture still be effective?
Yes, acupuncture will still be effective. Actually, acupuncture can help to reduce your reliance on sleep medication. You should consult with your primary care physician regarding any change in your medication or dosage – we will work as a team to ensure that you are getting the best care possible.
